FAQ's Standards AI
What is Standards AI?
Standards AI is a mobile-first document intelligence platform we’re building to help tradies and construction professionals quickly search, understand, and cite information from their licensed standards and technical documents.
Our goal is to create a structured, citation-first AI experience built specifically for technical standards — not generic chat.
Are you providing Australian Standards?
No.
Standards AI is being designed as a private document intelligence engine. Users will upload their own licensed standards and technical documents.
We do not plan to sell or distribute standards content.
You retain ownership of your licence at all times.
How will this be different from uploading a PDF into ChatGPT?
We are building Standards AI specifically for structured standards documents.
That means:
Clause-aware chunking
Structured table extraction
Diagram referencing
Page and clause citation
Version tracking
The focus is on traceable, defensible answers — not generic summaries.
Will it work properly with tables and technical diagrams?
That is a core priority.
Standards documents rely heavily on tables, ratings, and diagrams. We are building a structured ingestion pipeline that aims to properly extract and understand tables instead of flattening them into plain text.
This is one of the biggest areas we are investing in.
Is this legally compliant?
We are designing Standards AI to operate as a document processing platform, not a content distributor.
Users will upload documents they are licensed to use. Content will remain private to each account.
We aim to ensure the platform operates within copyright and licensing boundaries.
Who is this being built for?
We are building this for:
Electricians
Builders
Site supervisors
Engineers
Compliance managers
Anyone who regularly references standards and needs fast, accurate answers in the field.
How accurate will the answers be?
Our aim is to provide citation-based answers that include:
Clause references
Page numbers
Document version context
If a clear reference cannot be found, the system will indicate that.
Accuracy and traceability are central to the platform’s design.
How will pricing work?
We don’t want to lock in a pricing model before understanding how people actually use this.
We’re currently exploring usage-based and document-based pricing, but we’ll be working closely with early users to design something that makes sense for tradies — not just for us.

When will it launch?
We’re building this in public.
There’s no fixed launch date yet — we’re validating, testing, and iterating as we go.
